Baths closed for maintenance

Moseley Road Baths is closed until further notice due to essential maintenance work on the end of Pool 2 (the pool currently in operation). Funding has been found by Birmingham City Council to do structural work on the far wall around the Fire Exit. It is our understanding that other bits of maintenance and cleaning will be done during the closure and that the closure will last at least five weeks.

Friends of Moseley Road Baths welcome the maintenance work, but are cautious about what this means for the future of the building. We will be pressing the Council for more details on the work and trying to ascertain when the building will reopen to the public for swimming.

If you have further details then please share them with us via e-mail or using the comments box below.

  1. I am devastated that the baths are closed for 5 weeks. My daughter and I are regular swimmers, at least 3 times a week. I have a slipped disc and find swimming really helps. We have been to Fox Hollies tonight – what a joke . Adult only swimming too many people , half of them chatting you cannot do serious swimming quite a few people were moaning. half the lockers were broken. The place was dirty . I love moseley road everyone is very friendly and it is easy to park, the swimming times fit in with our lifestyle and are geared towards seious swimmers. I hate Cocks moors , Tiverton Road is another joke you have to share the Lane swimming sessions with a small amount of people who have half the bath.
Please let them open Moseley Road a.s.a.p.
Yours a frustrated swimmer and her also frustrated swimmer daughter

  2. Alyson, I know how you feel – swimming is such a lifeline for people, particularly at this time of year. You can’t beat getting into some nice warm water! We’ll be on the case with trying to get information about when it will reopen, and passing on your concerns. Fingers crossed that the closure will be five weeks rather than dragging on.

  3. I would like to speak to the Manager about disabled access in connection with Wet Sounds performance within the Fierce Festival.

    Kind regards,

Special Needs Co-ordinator for Wet Sounds

  4. I enjoy you because of all of your efforts on this site. Ellie enjoys doing internet research and it’s easy to see why. All of us hear all concerning the compelling manner you deliver functional ideas by means of the blog and as well cause contribution from other people about this concept plus my daughter is being taught a lot. Enjoy the remaining portion of the new year. You’re the one carrying out a first class job.
